If You Have Second Skin...
❤︎
-
Days 1–5: Keep the second skin on. Shower only - submerging in water can cause it to lift or leak early.
-
Day 6: In a warm shower, slowly pull up on the bandage to release. Let the water help loosen the glue.
-
After removal: Wash gently with antibacterial or unscented soap, twice a day for 2 weeks. Follow with a thin layer of moisturizer (Hustle Butter, Aquaphor, etc.) but don't over-moisturize.
-
Avoid sweaty workouts, swimming, and submerging the tattoo in water for 2 weeks.
-
Don't remove early: Wait at least 3 days before peeling, or you risk pulling off healing skin. If it's irritating you before day 5, gently remove it under warm running water and begin post removal steps.
-
If it starts leaking at any point, the barrier is broken. Remove it and switch to standard care.
If You Have a Temporary Barrier...
❤︎
-
1-2 hours after your tattoo: Take a shower (medium temperature water max). No baths or submerging your tattoo in water.
-
Cleaning: Wash gently with antibacterial or unscented soap, twice a day for 2 weeks.
-
Sleeping & protection: Don't sleep directly on the tattoo until fully healed. Use clean bed sheets, and keep pets and kids from touching it to avoid infection.
-
Moisturizing: Apply a thin layer of moisturizer (Hustle Butter, Aquaphor, etc.) twice a day for 2 weeks to a month. Just enough to keep it lightly moisturized.
-
No alcohol for 48 hours after your tattoo.
-
Avoid sweaty workouts, swimming, and submerging the tattoo in water for 2 weeks.

How to care for your new tattoo

Heads up: every artist has their own take on aftercare, so if anything's unclear, just ask!
I also provide options for those sensitive or allergic to bandage adhesive!
A few of my personal tips:
-
Keep your lotion or aloe gel in the fridge for extra soothing when the itching kicks in.
-
Products I swear by: Banger Bar Soap, Hustle Butter Ointment, and Mad Rabbit Aloe Gel.

NO SCRATCHING,
PICKING, SWIMMING,
OR DIRTY ACTIVITIES!!
